Despite Ban, Mate X to Release in 2019: Huawei Exec

One of the most revolutionary phone by Huawei, the foldable Mate X, is still kicking. Even more, now it has its release date. Despite Huawei ban weighed by Trump over Huawei, the Chinese tech giant still manages to pull another trick from their sleeves. The top executive of the Huawei himself announced the date.

It was supposed to be launched around summer, which was around recent months. Nonetheless, following issues happened to their rival’s product, Samsung Fold, which broke and displayed bubbled screens during several tryouts in its outlets, Huawei needs to improve and scrutiny their trump card before launching it to the people, to prevent any complaint; hence, the delay.

In addition, up until now, Samsung Fold’s release date is still unknown, but they denied the rumor that it would be released in July. Some retailers already cancelled the pre-order of Galaxy Fold, waiting for the certain release date by Samsung.

Speaking about how Samsung Fold’s failure contribute to the delay of Mate X’s launching, Huawei spokesperson only stated that they had to review their product over again, not wanting to stain their company image by such failure. However, since the issue has been fixed, now they are certain to announce the release date.

“At the latest, it will be released in September. It could be earlier, but the month September is already certain,” announced Vincent Peng, the senior vice president of Huawei. He added that they are still running test to Mate X, ensuring that the phone has it to reign the global gadget market.

Tech lovers and experts are now questioning which OS that it will use? Android or its own developed OS, HongMeng? Since US’ entity list forbids them to do any business with American tech companies, so they more likely to use HongMeng. In the other news, about 17 Huawei phones are still getting the upcoming Android Q update. Nonetheless, Huawei’s Mate X is not in the list.

In brief, Huawei Mate X will be released in around September coming at US$2,600. That means, 3 months! Save the date, folks.
