Ennichisai is held again! The annual Japanese festival most awaited by Japanese lovers is held on Saturday (06/22/2019) until Sunday (06/23/2019) Blok M area, South Jakarta. This is the tenth year of the Matsuri in the Litte area of Tokyo. Therefore, this year is celebrated as the 10th Anniversary with the aim of promoting the Blok M area as one of the tourist destinations in Jakarta with many Japanese restaurants and shopping areas. This event received support from the Japanese embassy and the government of South Jakarta.

This year, Ennichisai took the theme 'Danketsu' or 'Unity'. This theme is intended to remember that Ennichisai is an event that brings together various types of visitors without discriminating who is present. Everyone can enjoy this event.

The festival is filled with a variety of interesting Japanese shows such as Mikoshi, Dashi, Taiko, Geisha, and Cosplay. There are also hundreds of Japanese food stands and knick-knacks in Ennichisai that are unique and rare. The event also presents various guest stars such as Shoujo Complex and JKT48.

Visitors to this event are always booming. It even reaches hundreds of thousands of people. So that makes Ennichisai the biggest event in Indonesia. However, the event is rumored not to be held again at Blok M.

Reporting from HALO Japan through their official Facebook page, Chair of the organizing committee, Takeya Daisei, said that the possibility of Ennichisai 2019 is the last one held at the spot known as "Little Tokyo" near Blok M Square. Ennichisai's organizers were worried that the area could no longer accommodate the overwhelming number of visitors.

Easier access to Blok M makes a number of visitors next year will certainly increase dramatically. Therefore Takeya didn’t want to make residents around Blok M Square feel disturbed by the increasing number of visitors. Especially with parking and congestion problems that were unavoidable when the event was held. Takeya will try to find a spot that can accommodate many people in one place. He also said that by 2020, Ennichisai will not be held again. In addition to managing the latest location, that year also clashed with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
