大統領選、最大の関心事はコロナ 出口調査で42%回答

COVID19 pandemic is the biggest concern in the presidential election

In the US presidential election, which is undergoing ballot counting, 42% of voters who responded to the Associated Press exit poll said that the pandemic of the new coronavirus was the number one concern for the election.

According to the survey results, "economy and employment" was the second-highest at 27% after the corona problem. As for whether to prioritize infection prevention or the economy, 61% want the government to focus on infection prevention even if it damages the economy. 37% said they wanted to revitalize the economy even if the infection spread.

In addition, 58% of the respondents opposed President Trump's response to the pandemic, and only 35% answered that they were "more capable of coping than Biden." Forty-nine percent expected Mr. Biden to "handle the pandemic well."

In the United States, the death toll from corona infection is more than 230,000, the highest in the world. The survey shows that Mr. Trump's pros and cons of corona measures have become a major issue in the presidential election.

Mr. Trump repeatedly criticized the new corona, saying, "It was China's fault that could not prevent the worldwide infection." Even though the number of newly infected people per day is increasing in the final stage of the election campaign, he has appealed to his supporters at meetings and Twitter, saying that he is "going around the final corner" and "everyday life is just around the corner."

On the other hand, in this survey, less than 10% were interested in healthcare, immigration, abortion, climate change, etc.
