Queue on KRL station

Covid-19: Extension of the Jakarta PSBB transition period and close supervision of KRL and markets.

On July 1, Anies Baswedan stated, based on the evaluation, the PSBB transition in Jakarta would be continued for the next 14 days, namely until July 16, 2020. This is because there still needs to be an increase in community discipline in complying with the Covid-19 protocol.

"There needs to be an increase in community discipline in three aspects, the use of masks, washing hands regularly and keeping a distance," Anies said at a press conference on Wednesday (01/07). "There are two main areas where transmission is common, namely the market and KRL," Anies explained.

For KRL, in general the ranks of the TNI, the police and the DKI Jakarta provincial government will work closely with KCI (KRL manager) to be able to monitor passenger arrangements at KRL.

But on Monday (06/07), through its Instagram account, the Mayor of Bogor, West Java, a buffer zone of Jakarta, complained about the queue of prospective KRL passengers waiting in line for up to two hours. He asked for an evaluation of the division of work shifts in offices in Jakarta.

As for the market, in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's record there are 19 markets that were closed in one month during June.

"In the future elements of the TNI, police and ASN will be deployed to closely monitor the market. In total there are around 300 markets which will be closely monitored," Anies said.

The way the market is controlled in the next 14 days is changed, i.e. odd arrangements are even removed and operational hours are returned to normal, extended.
