Confluent New Party Representative Elected on September 10th
The representative election of the new confluence of the Constitutional Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party will be voted on the afternoon of the 10th, and the constitutional representative Yukio Edano (56) is expected to be elected as the new representative. Mr. Edano, who has firmly supported the majority of the members of parliament who have voting rights, led the development of the national election, which became a single-handed election with Kenta Izumi's chairman (46). At the same time, the name of the new party decided by voting is expected to be decided by Mr. Edano's "Constitutional Democratic Party". The term of office of the new representative is until September 2022.
Voting rights are held by a total of 149 people, including 88 constitutional people, 40 people, and 21 independents who participate in the new merger party. After voicing their determination in Tokyo from 1 pm, they move on to voting.
Mr. Edano emphasized the "shift from a neoliberal society" and appealed for timely consumption tax cuts and exemption of income tax from the middle class and below. The majority of the constitution and the people's group of Ichiro Ozawa, about 10 people, supported by independent prime ministers such as former prime minister Yoshihiko Noda and former deputy prime minister Katsuya Okada, the election campaign was predominantly developed. On the other hand, Mr. Izumi tried to make a comeback by appealing for "open party management" with the support of 21 people who were listed as recommenders. The name of the new party is "Democratic Party".
The representative election was held prior to the party meeting on the 15th, when the Constitution and the people dismissed each other and joined. All the members of the Constitution joined the new party, but the people were divided without the participation of some members such as Yuichiro Tamaki. Depending on the successor of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the House of Representatives may be dissolved and a general election may occur this fall, so the new representative needs to hurry to build an electoral alliance system between the opposition parties, and his skills will be questioned immediately after taking office.
Mr. Edano was elected 9 times in the 5th ward of the lower house of Saitama. In the former Democratic Party of Japan, he served as Chief Cabinet Secretary and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
