Comparing Violent Crime in Britain and U.S.

It seems like Trump gains an enemy. There was a stabbing incident in north London last week. Trump, as always, expressed his opinion about it. Trump nicknamed London Mayor Sadiq Khan 'a disaster' and 'national disgrace' after the incident happened. Trump did not stop right there, he even called London as 'Stab-City' and 'London Khanistan'. Although Khan has not yet commented on Trump's statements, but it seems like British people do not like it. Many people said Trump released those statement due to his hate for Muslims. Khan is the first Muslim who became London's mayor.

However, does Trump have the rights to call Khan names? How about the killing crimes in US? An official statistic confirms that there is an increase number of knife crimes in London, but the number is lower than murdering number in United States. Moreover, the number is even lower than knife stabbing's rate number in New York, which is a hometown to Trump. Although New York is bigger than London, the number difference of the two cities can be seen clearly.

In addition, Denver is one of the states in United States that have the highest violent crime rate. It is reported in Mile High City, the violent crime increases every year since 2014, reaching 4,260 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2018. However, some cities in Denver shows a decreasing rate in 2019, which the police hope the rate will go even lower in the future.
