Colorado Highway is Blocked by a Giant Rock

COLORADO - A giant 'building-sized' rock fall to the ground in Colorado. This causes highway 145 is closed, while the evacuation of the rock is still ongoing.

There was a massive slide in the southwest city of Ouray on Friday, May 24. Due to the slide, the drivers have been warned that highway 145 would be closed.

According to the city's official social media account, the slide consists of dirt, rock, and even two huge boulders. The huge boulders destroyed the lanes of highway 145, which is why the highway is currently closed. It is predicted that the boulders leaves a trench approximately eight feet deep across both lanes.

The city is currently calling for geotechnical team to help with the evacuation. They also need some equipment and supplies, in order to break the boulders into small pieces. The small pieces will make the evacuation goes faster.

It is reported that the boulders are as big as buildings. Both are weigh around 2.3 million and 8.5 million pounds. Due to their sizes, the city governor is still not sure whether they could finish it anytime soon or they will need some more days to finish the evacuation.

No one is injured by this incident.
