Chugoku Electric makes a 25% investment in hydroelectric power generation in Indonesia

Chugoku Electric announced on January 1 that it will participate in hydroelectric power plant project in North Sumatra Province in the northern part of Indonesia. It is the first time that the company handles hydroelectric power overseas. It will be the company's first power generation project in Indonesia. It will acquire 25% of the shares of the power producer of the country through a subsidiary that China Denchi has in Singapore. Acquired amount is unpublished. With domestic competitive environment becoming severe, it will lead to securing revenue sources overseas.

Participating is "Pakat Power Station", output is small size of 18,000 kilowatts. Commercial operation began in April 2016, and it is selling to Indonesia's state-owned power company. We will cooperate to convey the know-how of hydroelectric power that we have cultivated so far. It is the fourth case to participate in overseas power generation projects.

We are considering the participation of businesses owned by Chugoku Electric and hydraulic power plants which parent companies of Indonesia will expand in the future.
