China Invested in AI to Develop Public Services

Artificial Intelligence or widely known as AI is used by many countries across the globe. AI has benefits which can change how public transportation work, payment methods, retail and other urban environments. This technology promised to be able to develop these areas to be better; countries in different parts of the world have requested the technology.

Previously, Microsoft revealed that they are skipping USA and Mainland China to expand AI. Microsoft stated that Chinese has a lot of engineers and employees, but most of them are expensive. After numerous contemplation and research, Microsoft expanded their branch in Taiwan instead, where the salary standard is lower than China. The Microsoft in Taiwan is under the name of Micron Technology and they are planning to grow their staff this year. They currently have 1,000 employees, but plan to hire 8,000 people to work for them this year.

Although Microsoft did not invest in China, another firm is interested to invest for AI technology in China. Analytics firm SAS from USA, revealed that they are planning to invest 1 billion yuan ($146 million) in China to develop AI. The investment’s agreement is for three years and it will be used to improve public services in China. Using this technology, experts will be able to learn more about the analytics, which can help in improving the public services.

China itself has made another step in the AI world, though. A leading Chinese firm in AI technology is opening a branch in Greece. The name of the company is DeepBlue Technology and they announced their investment for the country last Wednesday in Athens. With this two countries’ collaboration, China is responsible for creating new jobs as well training its Greek employees.
