Catering Businesses are Now Using Marketplace to Sell Food and Getting Funded

People are always looking for catering whenever they have special occasions. From small house parties, company’s events, to weddings; people are always looking for a good catering, to cater them on the big day. It’s not surprising to find the fact that catering business owners are having great profits. However, there are also catering businesses that had to close down, due to the loss of its customers and lack of promotion. Thankfully, as the internet developed, catering can now promote their products online.

With the rise of social media and marketplace, it is easy for a business to be seen by a lot of people. Any type of business has an Instagram account to make them easier to be found. With the power of social media, a business can grow big in a short time as well, which means, earning big profit.

Other than being able to promote online, startup companies are now funding catering as well. Ruma Catering is an example. They are currently in the middle of getting loan fund from a Fintech company, which is the partner of Ralali.com; an online marketplace. They revealed the fund is Rp700 million, which is times bigger than a bank would fund them. With a market place funding them, Ruma Catering can also sell their products in there, using the pre-order method.

According to Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (Financial Services Authority), there are about 70% out of 60 million small businesses that are not funded by banks. Nonetheless, small businesses have employed more than 116,73 million people. OJK revealed that one of the reasons why small businesses are not getting funded by the banks is because of the administrative.
