BTP Confident in Oil Business Despite Unstable Oil Price

The attorney of former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or BTP, Teguh Samudra, said that his client had no intention to change mind in running oil trading business despite its unstable price at markets. “Lower or higher price is a global trend, so no problem, it will increase again,” said Teguh in a written statement Sunday, January 27. He opined that inconstant price is a normal issue in the business world. On Friday, January 25, the oil price rose for a third day due to the deepening crisis in Venezuela which threatened OPEC in balancing the world's oil supply. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for shipment in March increased 1 percent or 0.53 point to US$53.66 per barrel at 14:53 local times, while Brent oil for the same month rose 0.82 percent to US$61.59 per barrel. Teguh explained that BTP determined to run oil business because of the latter's capability. Besides, the recently released BTP would also host an exclusive TV program.
