British Nurse Arrested Once More for Alleged Infant Murder

CHESTER - She once escaped the suspicion, now she had to do this all over again. Lucy Letby, a Hereford woman who currently works as nurse at The Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester, UK, was “re-arrested” by the police. The charge was sinister. The Cheshire Police Force arrested her once more due to suspicion of alleged murder of 8 infants, and according to a source, the number might increase by 6 infants.

The police had been looking at a case of 17 infant murders ranging from 2015-2016. The allegation emerged since the doctor suspected the odd number of “neonatal” deaths, “higher than usual,” according to the doctor at that time. Simultaneously, the police also was investigating 16 neo-natal collapses in the year intervals.

In July 2018, Lucy Letby was arrested by the police due to the same allegation against her. She was questioned 2 days straight, while her residence in Chester was searched.

Nonetheless, she was acquitted on a bail.

Detective Inspector Paul Hughes of Cheshire Police stated that the case was a “challenge”, since they had to keep the mourning parents updated with the investigation.

“Behind all of this, stand all desperate parents who want to know what happened to their babies,” stated Mr. Hughes.

Moreover, Letby’s charge could be heavier, judging the fact that she could have been connected to the additional murder of 3 infants.

“The Countess of Chester Hospital is complying fully to the investigation,” according to the spokesperson of the hospital.
