While Thurman just returned to the ring in January after a nearly two-year layoff. He defeated Josesito Lopex to improve his winning records to 29 with 22 knockouts.

At a weigh-in Friday’s night (7/19), Pacquiao said that he has been so prepared for the fight as he is in better shape now than when he faced Adrien Broner in January and will give Thurman a painful lesson. He is attempting to capture Thurman's WBA "super" welterweight crown.
