BMW unveils a £24,400 new Mini model

Mini’s first appearance was six decades ago and now BMW has unveiled a new model of an electric version as it charges the new era. Through this model, BMW hopes that German carmaker could meet looming EU emissions targets.

The latest Mini model had 15,000 expressions of interest before the order books open on Tuesday. The expected time of the first delivery is in the first quarter of 2020 with a total price of £24,400, after the £3,500 from the government’s plug-in car grant has been applied.

The British Motor Corporation used to build the original Mini in response to the fuel rationing following the Suez crisis, the new model of Mini will relaunched the 2000 Mini brand which will reduce the average emissions of the cars to meet the carbon dioxide emissions limits which has been set by the EU.

The moment to launch the latest model of Mini will be a very important moment as BMW seeks a new chief after Harald Krüger, the previous chief said that he will no longer work in BMW. The possible candidate to replace Krüger is Zipse, the previous Oxford plant director. Moreover, the new chief will be responsible to oversee a plan to launch 25 new electrified models by 2023.
