Big Loss, Sriwijaya Air Will Not Offer Travel Pass Program Again

Jakarta, Indonesia - According to Sriwijaya Air's Commercial Director, Joseph Tendean, the airline decided not to continue the Travel Pass that allowed passengers to flight everywhere using a cheaper flight package because they experienced a big loss due to this program.

Sriwijaya Air Travel Pass was disbursed in May 2018. Through this program, passengers can enjoy Sriwijaya Air's domestic flight services as much as possible during the year, just by paying IDR 12 million. The program purchase period can be done from April 9, 2018 to June 9, 2018 and the flight period is valid for 12 months, starting from the date of purchase of SJ Travel Pass.

However, this program also has several issues as one of the members of SJ Travel Pass, Ali Akmal (34) admitted that he always ran out of tickets since December 5, 2018. When he first registered in May 2018, he was still able to enjoy unlimited flying services from Sriwijaya Air but this year has been so hard to get the flight tickets.

It is reported that Sriwijaya Air is planning to create a new program to attract people to use Sriwijaya Air as an air transportation mode. The management will review that the new program will not harm the company's finances, such as SJ Travel Pass.

According to the source, right now Sriwijaya Air is cooperating with Garuda Indonesia, so Sriwijaya Air passengers can get Garuda Miles points if they fly with the Garuda Indonesia as well. However, the SJ Travel Pass passengers are still waiting for the better services, especially for Sriwijaya Air mobile application that is always run out of tickets for every route, however in the other travel applications, the tickets with the same route are still available.
