BASF to Release New Plastic Products

K 2019 is going to be held later this year. It is a trade fair for plastics and rubber, and it will be held on October 16 – 23 2019 in Germany. Many chemical, plastic as well as rubber manufacturers will attend the trade fair to showcase their products. One of the manufacturers is BASF, a chemical company from Germany, whose branches are located around the world.

BASF is going to showcase their newest plastic products at the K 2019. The products are called Ultradur B6551 LNI and Ultradur B6560 M2 FC TF. Both of these products have the Ultradur characteristics, which make the two has a high melting point, low water uptake, high dimensional stability and good barrier properties. While the Ultradur B6551 LNI is recommended for pipes, profiles and mandrels, the Ultradur B6560 M2 FC TF is recommended for extrusion of films and thermoforming of packaging or technical parts. It is claimed to be the first plastic products using Ultradur chemical and it is reported the products are available worldwide.

This is actually not the first time BASF to make innovative products. Earlier this year, BASF collaborated with Green & Light creating paper honeycomb for car interiors. The paper honeycomb is made of two fiber glass mats and pressed with Elastoflex E semi-rigid polyurethane foam. The use of polyurethane is to clean the dirt easily which can make the trunk of a car clean.

Another innovation was also made in December 2018. BASF created a product which used chemically recycled plastic. Using thermochemical processes, the plastic wastes were turned to produce syngas or oils.
