Tokyo awarded the “Safest City in the World” by EIU for 3 consecutive times

Japanese people exalt morale and harmony. By this value, it is no surprise if the world wants to imitate Japan’s culture and value.

On Thursday (29/8), Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released the latest statistics about the safety of countries around the world, City Safety Index, and Tokyo came as the safest city. Again. The EIU’s statistics entered its third edition. Japan contributed two on the list with Tokyo & Osaka.

City Safety Index is a statistics tabulated by the EIU, assessing 60 cities in terms of personal security, health security, computer security, and infrastructure. For 2019’s edition, the index was also sponsored by NEC Corporation.

Announced in Singapore, the data tabulated that Tokyo, the capital of Japan, had several qualities that led it to the first place in terms of security overall. Tokyo has the lowest crime rate, computer malware rate, and infrastructure that facilitate people and durable to any disaster.

Despite being the safest country in the world, Tokyo still has its flaws. For example, in terms of health security, Osaka beat Tokyo. Singapore has the safest infrastructure and personal security, while Tokyo came fourth in both categories.

Asia-Pacific regions should be proud since six countries dominated the index. The list of the top 10 safest cities in the world is as follows:

5. Sydney, Australia

6. Toronto, Canada
