Ayaka Furue loses 3 and 1 in the semi-V final for the second year in a row US women's golf

"U.S. Women's Golf, Bank of Hope Match Play Final Day" (28th May, Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA = 6804 yards, par 72)

Ayaka Furue, who reached the final for the second year in a row, lost to Pajalay Ananarkarun (Thailand) 3-and-1 (3 down with one hole left) and ended up as the runner-up following last year.

Furue, who was one up in the second set, soon caught up in the third and was left leading in the fifth. Soon after, he overtook her in 6th place, but was herded again in 7th place. The par 3 17th, which became a boarding hole on the 2nd down, hit the first shot into the bunker behind the green. The second shot hit the cup, but didn't go in, so he admitted defeat and conceded.

In the morning semifinals, she defeated Leona Maguire (Ireland) 2-and-1. In the final, she was looking to avenge her loss from a year ago, but failed to win her second U.S. Tour title since the Scottish Open in July of last year.
