ASITA SUPPORT REGULATION TO VISIT TO TN KOMODO

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Tourism Companies (ASITA NTT), Abed Frans, supports the plan of arranging the pattern of tourist visits to the area of ​​Komodo National Park which is felt to begin to exceed capacity.

Over the past year, Komodo National Park as many as 122 thousand tourists have come, or an increase of 11 percent from the previous year which amounted to only 82 thousand tourists.

In the holiday season, the number of arrivals can reach 10 thousand tourists per month.

"As tourism actors we strongly support the pattern of tourist visits to Komodo National Park are reorganized to be more organized," said Abed in Kupang, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (25/4).

Abed goes on to say that the rearrangement of tourist visits to the environment and habitat of ancient animals, Komodo (Varanus komodoensis) in Komodo National Park.

"The numbers that come are unlimited, but arranged, for example, in one visit only a few people," Abed said.

"Individual travelers can also be incorporated in groups so the pattern of visits is more organized," he continued.

One of the impacts of tourist attacks on tourist destinations is the garbage problem.

Abed hopes that the pattern of visits to the problem will also decline.

"Managers should continue to increase the number of visits, but not sacrifice the sustainability of nature that must be maintained," he concluded.
