ASIAN GAMES FINAL 2018 CLASSEMEN

Jakarta - The Chinese contingent officially becomes the overall champion of the 2018 Asian Games after being ranked first in the final medal standings.

Organizing the 2018 Asian Games matches ended after the athletic sport in the mixed triathlon at Jakabaring Sport City, Sunday (9/2), became the final match.

Of the 15 days of the 18th edition of the Asian Games, the team from the Bamboo Curtain Country successfully won 289 medals, with details: 132 gold medals, 92 silver medals, and 65 bronze medals.

This is the 10th overall champion which has been owned by China in a row since the first time he won it at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, India.

The second position belongs to Japan with 205 medals. One additional gold from the mixed triathlon number confirms Sakura's position with 75 gold, 56 silver and 74 bronze.

South Korea, who won a silver medal from the mixed triathlon, has a total of 177 medals and is third. The Ginseng Country Team received 49 gold, 58 silver and 70 bronze.

Indonesia, which hosted the fourth place with 98 medals: 31 gold, 24 silver and 43 bronze. This result is the highest achievement of the Red and White Team while participating in the Asian Games.

Indonesia is the only Southeast Asian country in the top 10. These results exceed the targets imposed by the government through Kemenpora.

Only Thailand ASEAN countries have the highest position in the medal standings after Indonesia. The White Elephant Country Team was in 12th place with 73 medals: 11 gold, 16 silver and 46 bronze.

Above Thailand is Bahrain, the Middle East country with the best position in the medal standings after gaining 26 medals. Has 12 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze, Bahrain is ranked 11th.

Of the total 46 participants of the 2018 Asian Games including United Korea, there are eight countries that did not get a gold medal. The eight countries are: Tajikistan, Laos, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar and Syria.

United Korea which seized the attention at the Asian Games this time successfully collected four medals: 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze.

The country that finished the 2014 Asian Games medal was Syria. Syria only won 1 bronze from the athletics in the men's high jump number through Majd Eddin Ghzal.
