Apple to release AirPods Pro on 30 October

Competition for AI-powered, wireless earphones continues. Apple, the largest electronic device manufacturers in the United States (U.S), announced the release of AirPods Pro on 30 October, which is tomorrow. Nonetheless, the only color available is Apple’s signature white, and you can pre-order one starting from now.

Different from its predecessor, AirPods 2, AirPods Pro uses the new design. It is not the only different thing, though. AirPods Pro is equipped with more audiophile features such as Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), and Adaptive EQ for a more superior, clearer sound. AirPods Pro also allows its users to access Siri by saying the command, “Hey, Siri”. You don't have to struggle to connect the AirPods Pro as it automatically connects to your Apple devices.

In terms of sound, AirPods Pro has the H1 chip in it. The Apple-designed chip stores 10 audio cores, assuring low latency for ANC. From its site, Apple claims that the upcoming AirPods Pro is the only wireless earphones with ANC that adapts to your ears and the ear tips. There are also vents at the AirPods Pro design to ensure comfort, making you “feel the music” not “the AirPods Pro”.

ANC works by detecting sounds from the external environment and counter it with anti-noise sound so that your ears will not hear any. Apple states that the AirPods Pro adjusts the ANC 200 times per second to ensure the superior, secluded sounds in your ears.

AirPods Pro also has “transparency mode”. By this mode, you can listen to external noise for a bit without having to pull out your gear. This mode is helpful in case someone is talking to you or when you are crossing the road.

Not only Siri but also AirPods Pro can share your music with your fellow AirPods users with the Audio Sharing feature. However, to enjoy this feature, you have to update your iOS to the latest version.

For the battery, AirPods Pro offers five hours of listening time. With ANC on, AirPods Pro survives for four and a half-hour of listening and three and a half-hour of calling time. Fortunately, AirPods Pro also comes with Wireless Charging Case. Charging the earphones will give it additional juice to up to 24 hours of listening time and 18 hours of calling.

AirPods Pro will be sold at US$249 in the U.S and other 25 regions. While it is available for shipping tomorrow, you can find it in your iBox near you later this week.
