Apple's iPhone 11 series released in Japan

On Friday (20/9) morning, more than a hundred people were lining up in front of an Apple store in Marunouchi business district, Central Tokyo. Today, the iPhone 11 series is released in Japan and before the store opens at 8 am local time, about 130 people already lined up.

Some of these people had been waiting in queue since Thursday (19/9) night. Some customers said that they were tempted to buy iPhone 11 series to try out its new camera system, as iPhone is well-known for its magnificent camera quality.

“I like the design of the triple-lense camera equipped on the new models,” said one customer.

Three major Japanese mobile network providers, NTT Docomo Inc, KDDI Corp, and SoftBank Corp, also joined the bandwagon. For iPhone, the Japanese are its avid buyers. In 2018, the sale of the iPhone X series got 49.6%. In the second quarter of 2019, Japanese iPhone sales contributed 10% to the global share.

"I would like (customers) to enjoy new iPhone models with our comfortable wireless services and reasonable monthly fee plan," said the President of NTT Docomo, Kazuhiro Yoshizawa.

iPhone 11 is sold in Japan at ¥74,800. The 6.1-inch LED-screen iPhone 11 offers six color variants and two rear cameras. Its superior brothers: iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are sold at ¥106,800 and ¥119,800. 11 Pro and Pro Max have at 5.8 and 6.5-inch LED screen respectively.

Not only iPhone 11 but also Apple released its newest products in Japan. Apple Arcade, a gaming subscription service by Apple that offers more than 100 games, is sold at ¥600 per month. Apple Watch 5 is sold at ¥42,800.

Apple is going to release its latest iPad in late September, and a movie subscription service, Apple TV+, in November.
