Apple and Samsung are safer than Chinese phones: Vaksin.com

While being cheaper than most smartphones in the market, Chinese-made smartphone is said to be prone to privacy exploitation. As a comparison, Apple from the United States (U.S) and Samsung from South Korea (S. Korea) are said to be safer.

Cybersecurity Observer from Vaksin.com, Alfons Tanujaya, Chinese gadget companies keeps on emphasizing the cheap price they offered for their smartphones. But, behind the closed door, these companies are seeking ways to reap more profit with unconventional ways.

Alfons explained how these cheap smartphones could get many on-phone applications ready. One of which, even Chinese gadget companies are applying the profit-sharing method with third-parties. As said earlier, some Chinese gadget companies sell their products cheaper than others’.

Application developers reaped profits that will be shared with these gadget companies. To repay their generosity, Chinese gadget companies then pre-installed the applications trusted by the developers.

As a result, these smartphones are already infected by malware even before usage. This malware is a threat to users’ personal information. One example of malware is RottenSys, going undercover as the “System WiFi Service” app.

RottenSys directly linked to its main server, and once it is activated, it discreetly downloads and installs components – prepared beforehand - onto your smartphones.

On the other hand, Alfons compared the cybersecurity of Apple’s App Store and Android’s Play Store. The cybersecurity observer said that the App Store is better than the Play Store in terms of feature and curation. De facto, App Store is slightly more immune to malware than the Play Store.

Moreover, Apple really keeps the privacy of its users by not sharing the users’ data recklessly but only to the authority.
