Anies Extends Jakarta PSBB, June Becomes Transition Period

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to extend the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) which have been running since 10 April.

"We at the Jakarta COVID Task Force we decided to establish the status of PSBB in DKI Jakarta extended and set June as a transitional period," Anies said at a press conference at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (4/6). In this transition period, said Anies, socio-economic activities can be carried out gradually and there are limits that will be applied. "This period is a transition period," Anies said.

"The transition period starts tomorrow until it is finished. It is not stated until when," said Anies, while stressing the next decision will adjust developments. Previously, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said DKI would implement local-scale social restrictions to pursue the effectiveness of PSBB in 62 RWs that were still in red status because of the distribution (Covid-19).

Riza said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will tighten restrictions on the movement of people throughout the RW so that they can immediately be free of the corona pandemic. One of them is the use of letters for residents who want to go in and out. On the other hand, Anies is designing a protocol for community activities in living a new normal or a new order of life amid the coronavirus pandemic. This protocol will be implemented after the PSBB implementation in Jakarta ends. He also wants the readiness of all health facilities in the capital ahead of the new normal preparation. Not only that, it is also necessary to prepare medical personnel to support the new normalcy.
