Anies appoints acting Jakarta administration administration secretary amid COVID-19

The Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, officially appointed the Assistant of Economic and Finance Division under Jakarta's Regional Secretary, Sri Haryati, as the acting Jakarta's Regional Secretary. The decision followed the statement that the current Regional Secretary, Saefullah, has contracted novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The assignment letter was formally signed by Anies on Monday. Therefore, Sri will take over Saefullah's duty until he has recovered from COVID-19.

While fulfilling her duty, Sri will keep the position as the Assistant of Economic and Finance Division. The letter explained that Sri is not allowed to make strategic decisions such as changing strategic plans, government action plans, or appointing, transferring nor dismissing employees unless she has been granted a decree from the personnel supervisor to execute such.

Currently, Saefullah is undergoing intensive treatment at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD) after being tested positive for COVID-19 by the swab test. The news was confirmed by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) deputy speaker, M. Taufik. However, regarding where and when did Saefullah get exposed, Taufik did not clarify. In a post on his social media, Anies asked for prayers for Saefullah's recovery. Member of the Governor's Team for Accelerated Development, Naufal Firman, confirmed that the post was made by Anies himself.
