An Irish Breakfast Product is Pulled Out

After Perrigo pulled out their infant formula from Walmart last week, this time, an Irish company pulled out their breakfast product from the market. On Perrigo’s infant formula case, they were afraid the products could contain metal bits inside the can. What happened this time?

The product which was pulled out from the market is called ‘Black Pudding’. This pudding is manufactured by Denny and it is one of the most popular breakfast dishes. Therefore, there may be a possibility that many people have this pudding at home, based on how popular they are.

The company stated that the reason why they pulled out the products is because a batch of their black pudding may contain small pieces of blue plastic. The batch referred to the one with expired date of 17/07/2019. The product that might have blue plastic is only the 199g Denny’s Black Pudding as well. Therefore, Black Pudding in different sizes and batches are safe to eat.

Who found out about the blue plastic and what happened to the finder (who might have choked while eating it) have not revealed yet. However, Denny made an announcement on their website about the product’s pull out. They also offer help line for customers in Ireland, both for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Food Safety Authority of Ireland has also noticed the issue, in which they instructed stores that are selling the product to write notice about this issue.
