Amid COVID-19, TransJakarta only provides 13 routes

PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) imposed limitations on TransJakarta operational Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) starting Monday next week. The policy is seen as a concrete action against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Jakarta. There will be only 13 TransJakarta’s main routes remaining operational starting Monday.

Speaking in the City Hall on Friday, the Acting President Director of the TransJakarta, Yoga Adiwinanto, said that micro-TransJakarta, non-BRT, royal trans, and border bus will be halted per Monday.

Previously on 16 March, TransJakarta also imposed such policy. However, the policy was reviewed once more as it triggered a long queue and received several corrections from the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Here are the 13 operational routes:
1. Blok M-Kota;
2. Pulo Gadung 1-Harmoni;
3. Kalideres-Pasar Baru;
4. Pulo Gadung 2-Tosari;
5. Kampung Melayu-Ancol;
6. Ragunan-Halimun.
7. Kampung Rambutan-Kampung Melayu;
8. Lebak Bulus-Harmoni;
9. Pinang Ranti-Pluit;
10. PGC 2-Tanjung Priok;
11. Kampung Melayu-Pulo Gebang;
12. Penjaringan-Sunter Boulevard Barat; and
13. Puri Beta-Blok M.

Moreover, TransJakarta also imposed an operational hour limit. Starting Monday, TransJakarta will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Friday, Indonesia noted 369 patients positive for COVID-19, from the number, 35 died and 17 recovered. The majority of the patients came from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, noting that South Jakarta is the hardest hit.

In a separate statement, the Home Affairs Minister, Tito Karnavian, said that his Ministry has prepared buildings and infrastructure of the Home Affairs Ministry’s education center across Indonesia, ready to house the patients if needed.
