Amazon's Alexa Will be Installed in Cars

If Google has Google Assistant and Apple has Siri, Amazon has Alexa. Basically the same technology as the other two, Alexa is a voice assistant as well. In 2014, Amazon launched Amazon Echo speaker that included Alexa. As the time goes, Siri and Google Assisant became very popular among its users.

However, it turns out Alexa was the first voice assistant that can be found in home appliances. Alexa, quite similar to its competitor, has the ability to help people around the house. Alexa can control the SmartThermostat to adjust the room temperature, answering the door when a visitor comes, and it can lock the doors using August’s Smart Lock Pro.

Amazon recently announced that Alexa will be available in cars anytime soon. Amazon has recently revealed that they want to dive into the automotive industry, and having Alexa installed is one of their first steps. Nonetheless, the Vice President of Amazon Alexa Automotive Ned Curic refused to reveal the number of manufacturers Amazon will be working with. He expected Alexa will be available in a significant number of vehicles in the coming years.

It is revealed that BMW and Audi will be the first cars that have Alexa installed. A spokesperson of Audi stated that the company plans to install Alexa on cars that are going to be used by the government or officials. For BMW, they support the installation of Alexa because they think it matches the digital lifestyle values.
