Alleged political issues behind the replacement of Ultraman Taiga's cast

There’s an unpleasant news coming from one of the most popular Tokusatsu series in Japan, Ultraman. The first tokusatsu series in the Reiwa era, Ultraman Taiga is rumored to be experiencing a setback after announcing the cast changes.

Previously, Momoka was confirmed to be playing character Pirika Asahikawa in series that made by Tsuburaya Productions. However, suddenly on her Twitter account, Momoka announced that she had a problem on the schedule so she must be replaced by another artist, Yoshinaga Ayuri. Tsuburaya has also confirmed this on their official website.

But this turned out to be talked by fans. Because the announcement of Momoka's resignation is quite sudden, on June 7. Some fans believe that the shooting process has actually taken place, considering that the series will be released on July 6, 2019. Therefore, the schedule from Momoka should be appropriate and not collide.

Reporting from Nawala Karsa, there are some fans who suspect that this cause the role of Momoka in the film The Philosopher King: Lee Teng Hui's Dialogue in 2018. This film tells a story of girl named Maria, a student in Japan who wants to end her life by jumping into a lake. But she instead met the spirit of Lee Teng Hui, one of the former Presidents of Taiwan (PRC) who actually gave her the passion for life. There’s also a documentation video about Lee Teng Hui while he was still president of Taiwan.

Because the relationship between China and Taiwan is currently heating up, there is a suspicion that Tsuburaya actually doesn’t want to lose the "selling booth", cause they are worried that someone will bring the issue of Momoka's role in her previous film. China itself is indeed as one of the largest markets of the Ultraman franchise.
