All in Ramadan During COVID-19 Pandemic In Indonesia

This month Ramadan season will be different than previous Ramadan season in Indonesia. With the wild spread of coronavirus, Indonesian people got restrained in several aspects during this holy month such as Prayer, going back hometown (Mudik), mass gathering, etc. However, that wouldn’t make this year Ramadan month in Indonesia became less valuable than the previous one.

Below is several things that can highlighted Ramadan during COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

1.      Pray at home during Ramadhan

The government regulation in the face of the corona is of a pandemic by imposing physical distancing and Large-scale social restrictions. Physical distancing also imposed on the number of worship, particularly in the holy month of Ramadan. The government prohibiting Muslims to maintain the five-time pray, Tarawih and I’tikaf in the mosque to avoid any crowd. The community are required to independently to worship in a house with their family, this was something new in running their fasting in Ramadan this year.

2.      Television ratings rise sharply

When physical distancing and Large-scale social restrictions the community are required to do a lot more activity in the house.When Ramadan society choose to watch television while waiting for iftar, watching television as well be done to know updated news regarding pandemic corona in Indonesia

3.      Online and offline charity became one of the activity

Ramadan is a very good time and encouraging to do much alms .The pandemic corona is leading to the bad economic very directly to daily workers and many have affected by the termination of employment by companies that had difficulty production. Many people that have more money and power make campaign and open donation through social media and some application of social such as kitabisa.com or benihbaik.com to allow people to help others, especially people that affected economically by the virus corona this pandemic

4.      Many seller that sells Takjil (break-fasting food) by online

Before this corona pandemic, many offline booth selling food for break-fasting around the neighborhoods or by the roadside. But, the corona pandemic made many people change their system for selling the food. They are selling online using social media such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook so that people should not be out of the house, just order by online and the food  will be sent by grab express or godsend services.

5.      Parcels and hampers business online

The Large-scale social restrictions until the end of may result in communities can not do gathering activity such as break-fasting together with friends and colleagues, do open house during eid day. So, the communities in establish silaturahmi and get contacted during Ramadan by sending Ramadan parcels and eid hampers online and send directly to the recipient. Many the seller parcels and hampers online that give interesting packages from selling cookies package to worship things package.
