After escaping a few days, Kobayashi Makoto was arrested by Kanagawa police

Kanagawa Prefectural Police finally succeeded in arresting Kobayashi Makoto, a 43-year-old inmate who avoided arrest in the city of Aikawa last week. According to a report from TBS News, police arrested Makoto Kobayashi in his apartment in the Morisaki area, Yokosuka City at 6:38 in the morning. The police have obtained a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of interfering with the duties of a public servant.

On June 17, seven law enforcement members, including two police officers and five staff members from the Yokohama District Public Prosecutor's Office, tried to arrest Makoto Kobayashi at his residence in Aikawa. But he had managed to escape. Kanagawa Prefectural Police then put Kobayashi on the list of the most wanted fugitives nationwide. They also released more pictures showing a 171 cm fugitive.

Kobayashi was seen traveling with a black Honda Fit sedan on Tomei Expressway towards Nagoya. The vehicle was later found abandoned about 7 kilometers from his residence. Kobayashi then taken from a security camera in a shop in Atsugi City's Tsumadaminami area at around 6:30 a.m. On the same day, about 90 minutes later, he was seen on a security camera recording taken at another shop in Atsugi.

To disguise his existence, Kobayashi always changes his clothes during his run. While running away, he wore a white hat, white shirt and shorts. In the first department store, he was dressed in black. However, he wore shorts, sandals and a yellow shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt in a second department store.

Last September, Odawara branch of Yokohama District Court gave Kobayashi a three-year prison sentence, eight months for theft, violations, causing bodily injury, and violating the Stimulant Control Act. His lawyer appealed the decision. However, Tokyo High Court still upheld their decision. Kobayashi managed to escape when he was arrested by police on June 17, but Kanagawa police arrested him a week later.
