Affecting their Incomes, Thai Taxi bike and Taxi drivers refused Grab's entry to the Country

Bangkok, Thailand - It is reported that on Monday (6/24), around 30 taxi bike and taxi drivers in Thailand filed a petition rejecting the legalization of Grab's online transportation services to the Directorate General of Land Transportation (DLT) of the Ministry of Transportation.

Apparently, the action was done to ask for clarification from the General Director of DLT, Jantira Burutpat, regarding anticipation to prevent the negative impact of Grab's legalization on the fate of taxi bike drivers and taxis in Thailand that might affect their passengers and incomes.

Chalerm Changthongmadan as the head of Taxi Bike Driver Association in Thailand reportedly led this protest.
He also stated that, instead of enforcing the law for criminals, the DLT has changed regulations to benefit foreign investors who violate the law and create loss among Thai citizens and it is unacceptable for them.

However, Jantira said that, the citizens mistakenly thought if the government ignored complaints regarding the issue of legalization of the Grab. He also explained that, officers from related institutions have investigated all the effects of Grab's services that might be felt by taxi and motorcycle taxi drivers and passengers.

Jantira promised to guarantee justice and benefits for all parties so there will be no harmed for Thai drivers and the foreign investors and companies in the country.
