Thomas Tuchel: Mbappe and Neymar “Might” Stay

PARIS - After Mbappe’s announcement, everyone was left in questions. The announcement was made when Mbappe was giving speech upon receiving the “Player of the Year” award. Kylian Mbappe, the French Golden Boy, stated that he would love to bear responsibilities, either “in this club or others”. The last statement left everyone, especially Thomas Tuchel, PSG’s manager, in hesitation and sorrow.

German manager Thomas Tuchel came from Germany to Paris after he had done managing Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He, of course, does not want his players to leave. After PSG’s mess this season that can be compared to Barca, they only achieved Ligue 1 trophy, after being beaten by Stade Rennes for French Cup, and being eliminated by Manchester United in Champions League.

It was almost certain that Tuchel’s career was in the noose, and he could have been sacked. But, PSG decided to trust him more by extending his contract from 2020 to 2021. Had Tuchel been sacked, there are options like Jose Mourinho or Massimiliano Allegri (who just quitted Juventus).

While PSG was quick to react by denying Mbappe’s departure, Neymar was reported being approached by Real Madrid. Neymar reportedly could not stand Mbappe’s ego, so he just wanted to leave and have the lights all to himself. One of them or both, Real Madrid is up for these 2 players. These duo was proven to be effective, they just need to make the two more harmonic in chemistry and they are good to go.

PSG’s idea in mind was to grab their first UCL’s trophy by hailing these 2 best players with astronomical price. But, if they are gone to other clubs, whom they can trust?

One thing for sure, if either of these 2 will make his move in the end, it will be the most expensive transfer in soccer history.
