Adidas collaborates with Zound in 2 new wireless audio gears for sports

Since February 2018, Swedish audio industry, Zound Industries - known for its Marshall and Urbanears audio gears - has been collaborating with German sports gear manufacturer, Adidas. The cooperation between Zound and Adidas will end in 2024. Until then, you can expect Adidas to release audio gear with its sports gear with Zound involved in it.

Now, Adidas is ready to unveil its latest project. Entering the era where the headphones jack is no longer seen as the mandatory requirement, Adidas and Zound created two wireless earphones and earbuds. Of course, the earphones are not made for soccer or basketball players.

These wireless audio gears were created to accompany its users during workout, training, or recovery by focusing on “movement and durability”.

The two wireless with headband audio gear types are FWD-01 and RPT-01. FWD-01 is a pair of in-ear earphones. The unit offers 16 hours of playback. For the charging option, it uses USB-C jack, which ensures fast charging.

Considering the playback time, it is more than required for any athlete. Adidas puts “comfort” on their priority list. FWD-01 includes ear tips of several sizes and ear wings. The cord with in-line controls is made tangle-free.

While we are finished with FWD-01, it is time for RPT-01 to make its appearance. RPT-01 is a pair of headphones, with an IPX4 rating. As other headphones, the ear cushions and headband are removable and washable. RPT-01 lasts for 40 hours of playback time, more than FWD-01.

However, when it comes to its specification such as what and how many drivers the earphones and headphones use or the impedance and the frequency, Adidas and Zound still have not unveiled it. Both connect through Bluetooth. Guess, we need to wait until its release date, on 25 September. FWD-01 will be sold at £129.99 (US$157.4) and RPT-01 at £139.99 (US$169.4).
