Accused of Scamming $900 Bill, Mykonos Restaurant Claims Food is Value for Money

A soldier from Brooklyn, Francisco Tajeda, had posted a photo of his overpriced bill on TripAdvisor from a restaurant in Mykonos. Mr. Tajeda wrote that the restaurant had scammed him because the staff were dishonest and avoided to give the menu, as he attempts to warn other tourists.

The Mykonos restaurant DK Oyster charged the American tourist of $935 for six plates of calamari, six beers, three salads, water, and a tomato juice. The owner Dimitris Kalamaras, responded that the prices listed were carefully counted and the word scam given was unfair.

He said the food is a reflection of their level of efforts, care, and quality of the food served in one of the world’s most coveted beach. Their service respects customers and strives to produce products to be value for money.

However, he sympathized with the unsatisfied customer and suggested him to choose ‘special combo menu’ that cost $16 instead if he wants to avoid any bitterness.

In addition, other reviews also have similar critics saying the staff avoided giving the menu and telling the actual prices. The cheap offer was only a ploy to trick customers.

The eatery located in the Greek island has a four-star rating on the travel review site, although its recent reviews giving a one-star rating and saying it is best avoided.
