Abortion Laws in Effect, Disney to Hate Georgia

GEORGIA - The abortion ban also stirs the heart of entertainment industry. Disney, known to keep their company’s image in check, does not play around when it comes to humanity issue. Looking back to when they fired James Gunn over an old tweet, they wanted to implement the same to Georgia.

Recently, Georgia also planned to execute abortion ban bill, following Alabama’s stead. The abortion bill is effective when a fetal heartbeat is detected. In other words, a Georgian baby cannot be aborted when the fetus has reached 6 weeks.

The ban is planned to be effective starting the beginning of 2020. Likewise Alabama, many people and celebrities condemn it. Disney is one of them.

In Georgia, Disney shot Black Panther and its latest project: Avengers: Endgame. Nonetheless, Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, does not like the idea, threatening that if the law comes into effect sooner or later, Disney would not want to shoot any scene there. Netflix also hates the idea as they threatened Georgia that they would strikethrough Georgia from their service’s list.

While Georgia – being called “Hollywood of the South” -- gains interest from many production houses with its reasonable tax, Disney does not want to shoot at a place where “humanity does not exist”. This was not mainly Disney’s wish, as they had to grant wishes from its employees – who are against the bill.

Meanwhile, Louisiana also passed the 6 week bill into the state just yesterday (29/5).
