Abe Longs to Talk All Out to N. Korean Kim

TOKYO – Abe wants to pour out his ideas to the North Korean leader. Without having to set any preconditions for the talk, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe wants to discuss range of issues between the 2 neighboring countries in a “clear” and “open” manner.

Of course, for the Japanese, it is no secret that in his office, Abe wants to settle the issue of abduction of Japanese nationals by the North Korea in 1970s and 1980s. The abduction case is at the top of Abe’s priority list.

To show his determination on solving the abduction case, Abe even revised his request from “any meeting should result in progress to abduction case” to “no precondition”. This shows that Abe has really fixed his gaze upon the case, as it has been 30-40 years passed without any development worth of mentioning.

Despite North Korea’s contrary statement – that they have solved the abduction case --, Japan stated that there are 17 people missing, and they investigated North Korea for these missing people, and the settlement has not been finalized. Moreover, 5 people were sent back to Japan in 2002.

Bilateral relationship between Japan and North Korea will remain in the same state, if North Korea will not comply to Japan’s demand: denuclearization and settlement of abduction case.

Furthermore, Abe once requested US for helping them in sorting out the issue, by inviting Donald Trump – who is going on 4 days trip in Japan – as state guest, while on the other occasion, Trump also is scheduled to meet Emperor Naruhito for the first visitation to the Emperor by any state leaders.

About 61% of Japanese people nodded their head in agreement to what Abe is doing.
