Sergio Ramos: “Who Said I Want to Leave?”

MADRID - The Spanish center back wants to stay. Despite Florentino Perez’s – president of Real Madrid – claim that Sergio Ramos wants to leave for China Super League, Ramos asserted that he wants to stay at Santiago Bernabeu. Even, he wants so spend the rest of his career at Bernabeu, even if it means that he must play for free.

For most soccer players, Chinese Super League is the final destination to end their career while still playing for the moolah.

On Wednesday (29/5), Florentino Perez stated to media that his beloved center back, Sergio Ramos, wanted to free transfer from Real Madrid for Chinese team. The offer itself was huge.

Nonetheless in a shotgun conference to counter the claim, the 33 year old soccer player denied that he ever asked to leave. In spite of the claim against him, Sergio Ramos told the press that his relationship with Perez remains on a good term, even like a parent to a son.

On the other hand, Sergio Ramos admitted that he did get an offer to play in China. Perez asserted that should Chinese team want to have Ramos, it must not be for free, considering all his achievement at Real Madrid and at Spanish National Team.

Serving Real Madrid for 14 years, Sergio Ramos has achieved 4 UCL trophies, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and won 4 La Liga seasons. He played 606 times for Real Madrid and scored 84 goals. For Spanish National team, he won 2010 World Cup, 2008 & 2012 Euro Cup, and 2014 Golden Boot award. With this achievements, surely Florentino Perez must be hard to let his boy go, especially amidst the heinous 2019 season.

Chinese Super League does not play around to attract superstars. For Ramos, should he ever take the offer, he will make €35 million annually, more than Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus (€31 million). The question is: “Which team?”, since the report did not name any team name.
