Cristiano Ronaldo: “Mourinho Is the New Allegri”

A friendship that lasts forever. When you are at the top, of course you want to help your friend once he/she hits the bottom. In this case, Ronaldo feels the love for Mourinho rekindled once more in his heart.

Recently, Massimiliano Allegri – former Juventus manager – left Juventus for a secretive reason. No media could dig this out from Allegri’s mouth. However, under Allegri’s reign, la Vecchia Signora (the Old Lady, Juventus’ popular nickname) became the king of Serie A for 4 years, since Antonio Conte’s departure in 2014.

Both of the managers had 1 thing in common: they failed to bring Champions trophy to Juventus Stadium, Turin, Italy. Allegri, though, almost managed to bring the trophy home, but had to satisfy himself with the runner up position for 2014-15 and 2016-17.

After being beaten by Ajax – team known for their prolific youth – in quarter-final, Allegri thought that it might have been the right time for him to relay the baton to somebody else. His reign ended just 2 matches before the end of season, between Juventus and Atalanta & against Sampdoria.

After a disappointing season with Manchester United which ended in Mourinho being sacked, Mourinho seemed to disappear from the pitch, but still criticizing the team as he likes. The star Portuguese player, Cristiano Ronaldo, wanted to work under Mourinho’s guidance once more. The last time both worked together was when Mourinho and Ronaldo were working for Spanish giant Real Madrid.

For Ronaldo, he wanted to work with manager who had seen his best performance while serving Madrid, now he wanted to work under his guidance anymore. Nonetheless, Mourinho currently is seen in an awful perspective, where he was perceived to be a toxic influence and he could not cope with youth players. In addition, Mou was said to suffer from “Third season curse”.

However, the issues above seem nothing to Ronaldo. He trusted Mourinho, and Mourinho might be the solution to bring Champions trophy to Juventus’ embrace.

Currently, Juventus has not said anything about appointing new manager.
