A 9-year-old boy found dead in Saitama, the investigation continues

On Wednesday (18/9) at 12.40 am local time, the Japanese police force found a body of a 9-year-old boy in a storing space at an apartment complex located nearby his house in Minuma Ward, Saitama.

The boy, Ryosuke Shindo, reportedly went to an English conversation lesson at a school, according to the testimony of his father (32). However, the deceased’s mother (42) – a teacher - grew worried as Shindo had not come back, even as she came back from work at 8.20 pm.

The family then reported their missing son to the police, and the investigation began. The police and the deceased’s family later learned that Shindo never arrived at school. After searching the area, the police arrived at an apartment – a teacher’s housing facility - located just 4 kilometers east of JR Omiya Station.

Upon finding the body, the police found bruise marks around the neck, indicating that the deceased was strangled to death. Besides the strangulation mark, there were no other injuries found at the body of the fourth-grader. While the t-shirt remained in-tact, the shoes, belonging to the deceased, were nowhere to be found.

The police are still investigating the case as a suspected murder case.
