Chefs Declare June 25 to be ‘Bourdain Day’

Anthony Bourdain has left a deep impression on his fans around the world, even for those who only know him through a TV screen or from the page. One of the legacies from this intrepid traveler is how he changed the way we travel, the way we understand other cultures, places, and people.

To keep remembering and celebrating the storytelling chef, his longtime friends and world-renowned chefs José Andrés and Eric Ripert declared June 25 to be ‘Bourdain Day’. Through a video shared on Twitter and Instagram, Andrés and Ripert announced this morning that June will be a very important month for Bourdain’s fans. Even though the legend died on June 8, but his birthday is chosen as the celebratory date. Friends and fans are also encouraged to share the most memorable and beloved memories of Bourdain by using a hashtag #BourdainDay.

Shortly after Andrés and Ripert’s initial announcement, the hashtag began trending and likely to go viral on June 25 as fans all over the world will celebrate the life of Anthony Bourdain.

Cited from CNN, where Bourdain had been a presenter for its travel shows, in order to celebrate the life and memories of the legend, it also just published a book of a collection of images and quotes from Bourdain. The book went on sale with a title Anthony Bourdain Remembered.
