8 People Died, What Happened After Breakfasting in Iraq?

Eastern Baghdad, Iraq – An unpleasing situation happened after breakfasting time in a market called Jamila located in East Baghdad, Iraq with a sudden suicide bombing that killed 8 people and 15 people were seriously injured as the impacts.

Al-Kindi Hospital, which is located not far from Jamila's market, has reportedly received 8 bodies after the attack occurred exactly after the majority of Baghdad residents were busy breakfasting of Ramadan 1440 Hijri at the crowded market.

A senior Iraqi police officer who declined to be named gave a statement that he saw a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up near the stalls at Jamila's market without having a chance to stop the bomber.

Previously, explosions also occurred in several districts with a majority Syiah population in the capital city last November. The blast killed six people and most of them civilians. It was also reported a twin suicide bombing also occurred in Baghdad in January last year which killed 31 people. This means this was not the first time the suicide bombing happened in Iraq, even though in 2017 Iraq has declared victory over the ISIS group.

Unfortunately, until today, no one had claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing in the densely populated area and still under investigation.
