5 People Died, Mexican Helicopter Fell in Its Own Country

Reuters reported that on Friday (24/5) morning a fire fighting operation, a MI-17 military helicopter in Central Mexico. The helicopter crashed while helping to extinguish the forest fires precisely about 89 km north of the city of Jalpan de Sierra in the state of Queretaro, and unfortunately there are five crew members died in this incident.

One of the navy members stated that the number of victims was unknown and whether or not there were officials of the national forestry commission inside the plane. He also did not know the exact cause of the accident. The plane crash was previously known by the surveillance team with the discovery of helicopter debris.

After the incident, a search operation was carried out by the officers. However, the operation was delayed at night due to bad weather conditions.

Officials including Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador held a minute's silence after learning of a military plane crash on Friday night to respect and remember all the flight crews who were die during their operation in helping to extinguish the forest fires and saving the earth.
