5.1 Magnitude Earthquake, Tokyo Suddenly Shook

According to Reuters and Japan Times on Saturday (05/25/2019), the Japan Meteorological Agency confirmed the 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit eastern Japan while the US Geological Survey or USGS noted that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5. However, there is no sign or threat of a tsunami due to this earthquake.

NHK national television said the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the southern Chiba region which is about 60 kilometers from Tokyo. This earthquake made buildings in the capital city of Tokyo shook and concerned the people in Tokyo.

Apparently, this earthquake occurred before the arrival of President of the United States (US) Donald Trump who made a state visit to Japan. Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, were scheduled to arrive in Tokyo on Saturday (5/25) afternoon local time.

The epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be at a depth of 40 kilometers from the surface of the Earth. It is reported that there was no damage or casualties due to this earthquake and there was no injury occurred because of this earthquake and still waiting for further news about the situation in the capital city of Japan and Chiba region.
