35 Air Canada passengers injured, Major Turbulence hit the Ceiling of the Aircraft

Vancouver, Canada - It is reported by AFP and CNN on Friday (07/12/19), Air Canada aircraft with flight number AC33 is experiencing a series of turbulence and forced to make an emergency landing at Daniel K Inouye International Airport, Honolulu, Hawaii at 12:45 a.m. local time.

A passenger named Michael Bailey said that they experienced turbulence which was quite fast and many passengers hit the ceiling of the plane, many were shouting as well.

According to the source on Thursday (11/7), a total of 35 Air Canada passengers suffered injuries due to turbulence when the aircraft was airing towards Sydney, Australia. Air Canada said that the plane was carrying 269 passengers and 15 crew members were at a point of about two hours after passing through Hawaii when a series of turbulence hit the aircraft cabin.

He also added that the girl who was sitting in front of him hit the plastic above her head and crushed it, and the oxygen mask came out, and there was a lot of panic. Other passengers also said, the plane seemed to have fallen around 100 feet or so because they all hit the ceiling of the plane.

Air Canada stated that their top priority is always flight safety, passengers and flight crew and as a precautionary measure, medical crews are on standby to check on the passengers in Honolulu about their current condition.

An Air Canada spokesman also reported that up to now, from several injured passengers, only one has been discharged from the hospital while others are currently being treated by the medical team. After this incident, Air Canada provided hotel accommodation and food for passengers in Honolulu and that flights to Sydney will continue later on the next day as they have to make sure about the plane and passengers' condition first.
