3 Dead as High Temperatures Continue Across Japan

TOKYO – People died and many were taken to the hospitals due to heatstroke which was caused by the high temperature. 30o C has been shining across Japan for four days, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

It is been reported that 3 women were dead and 10 students were taken to the hospitals.

The first woman, a 42-year-old found unconscious behind the wheel of a car. She was driving her car to the supermarket, where later she found to be unconscious. This happened in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, and was pronounced dead. The second woman is an 88-year-old woman who was died in Hanyu, Saitama Prefecture. According to the local government, she was found in her field. The third and the last one, is a woman in her 90s. Similar to the second woman, she was found dead in a field in Oshu, Iwate Prefecture. The local authorities are suspecting heatstroke.

24 junior high school students in Machida, Western Tokyo, were practicing for sports day. However, they were complaining feeling ill due to the heat. Later on, 10 of them were taken to the hospitals as things get more serious. Thankfully, none of them was in a serious condition, according to the police.

There are 926 monitoring posts across Japan, and 400 of it are registered temperatures above 30o C. The heat is predicted to lower throughout the week, but people still need to be careful.
