“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” Is in Motion

“Star Wars” is about to go back in time. While some fresh fans of the sci-fi franchise only know Rey, Kylo Ren, Snoke, and BB-8, veteran Star Wars fans were ecstatic when Disney announced that they and LucasFilm (the original pioneer for Star Wars franchise by George Lucas) is making all the geek fans’ wishes come true, the live-action adaptation of the beloved “Knights of the Old Republic”.

Laeta Kalogridis, the writer for renowned Netflix movie “Altered Carbon”, was appointed to write for the screenplay. This was the second time a female was appointed as writer for Star Wars movie, since Leigh Brackett co-wrote the script for “Star Wars V: Empire Strikes Back”.

If you have not known Kalogridis, she was the one who produced Avatar, along with James Cameron. James Cameron seems to trust her. Kalogridis most recent work can be seen in James Cameron’s Alita: Battle Angel.

“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” (KOTOR) itself was released in 2003. The game still tells about the war between Jedi and Sith, but it happens long before any of the originals and sequels are born. In addition, it tells us more complicate yet interesting side stories of the war between Jedi Knights and Sith.

The game itself is a trilogy: the second being “KOTOR II: The Sith Lords” (2004) and the third being “KOTOR: The Old Republic” (2011).

The game was called a masterpiece, receiving positive-near-perfect reviews from game reviewers at that time. Aside from the original sequel (IV-VI), “Star Wars: KOTOR” was considered to be one of the most influential and impressive from the franchise. While it is distinctive in its own, it tells us more about Star Wars universe.

The movie adaptation itself was said to be divided into a trilogy, much the same as the game. Kalogridis was said to have finished the script for the first installment.

Now the fans is anticipating for the teaser or the first trailer.
