22 Foreign Companies Will Relocate Business to Indonesia

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) of Germany stated that there were at least 22 foreign companies planning to relocate their businesses to Indonesia. These corporations consist of companies from Japan, the United States, South Korea and several other countries.

Most of these companies are said to want to develop business on a supply chain basis. The Indonesian Ambassador to Germany, Arif Havas Oegroseno said that Indonesia had business potential that was not realized by many foreign countries. This was revealed by the dialogue at the Hannover Messe Digital Days event in Germany.

More than that, he said, during the Covid-19 pandemic Indonesia was actually ready to become a promising business relocation destination.

He explained the industrial sector occupies 70 percent of Indonesia's total gross domestic product. Indonesia, Arif said, also has great potential as a center for innovation, economic internet and industrial product relations.

The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) previously stated that there were seven foreign companies that were relocating investments to Indonesia. One of them will lay the groundbreaking stone next week.

The companies consist of PT Meiloon Technology Indonesia, PT Sagami Indonesia, PT CDS Asia (Alpan), PT Kenda Rubber Indonesia, PT Denso Indonesia, PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia, and PT LG Electronics Indonesia.
