2 Navy Ships Crossing Taiwan Sea, China did not See Any Suspicious Thing

Taiwan, China - It is reported that on Wednesday (5/22) The United States military deployed two navy ships, Preble destroyers and AL oil tanker Walter S Diehl ships to sail through the Taiwan Strait as a spokesman for the Seventh Fleet (7th) of the US Navy, Clay Doss stated in his interview. In his statement to Reuters, he stated that the ships did the transit through the Taiwan Strait to demonstrate the US commitment to freedom and openness (navigating) in Indo-Pacific waters.

The second voyages of these US ships were expected to be able to trigger the anger of China which is currently arguing with USA regarding trading war issue. Taiwan said its armed forces continued to monitor the movements of the two US Navy ships.

Meanwhile, Taiwan considers the voyages of the two US ships as a form of Washington's support for its government when a dispute between Taipei-Beijing is also heating up. It is reported by Reuters that US warships are passing through the Taiwan Strait at least once a month since the beginning of this year. In July 2018, Washington insisted the military would make this shipping operation as a routine.

However, Taipei mentioned that there were no unusual things the two US ships were doing while passing through its waters and there were no issues or violation as well. Doss also emphasized that all the maneuvers and interactions that were safe and professional. There is nothing to fear or suspicious about both of these navy ships.
