2 Aspects to Measure the Loyalty of your Employee

Nowadays, expertise is never enough in the workplace. People may say that honesty is the best policy. However, truth be told that not only honesty but also loyalty is necessary when it comes to determining the best candidate to be the next employee at your company. Without loyalty, an employee will never give their fullest contribution to your company and in the end, your company’s reputation is at stake.

Fortunately, there are at least 2 aspects that you can see from your candidates to determine how loyal are they.

The first aspect is “Support”. Good employees support their leaders even in the simplest manner. For example, when you are giving moral support or directing your divisions, a good employee will always agree. In addition, when you are wrong – after all, we are all humans, a good employee will not expose it publicly. Instead, they will support you by advising your next move in private, in order to save your face.

The second aspect is “Respect”. We are not talking about bowing to you every morning or such things. We are talking about mutual respect. In other words, they will treat you just like other people, no licking your shoes just to get your approval. But, wait, we never mean to say that they should treat you, as a leader, as a friend at any time. They respect you as a leader, yet they are not afraid to state their disagreement or suggestion. Some might call it rebellious, but frankly saying, these types of employees are the most loyal and trustworthy of them all.

In brief, loyalty is reserved in the hearts of all employees. It is up to you, as a leader, to treat your employees right or wrong. Right and equal treatment will bring up their loyalty and boost it. On the contrary, the employees will grow more cowardice and in the end, they will abandon your company without any announcement. We hope that equality is reinforced within your company to encourage loyalty and dedication.
